What is a Vinyl Decal?
Vinyl Decals are Die Cut images on a sheet of vinyl ranging from one to many colors in many shapes and sizes. Die cutting is to cut with a plotter machine (Vinyl Cutter). A plotter has a small extremely sharp razor that cuts a decal out. The design is cut onto a thin vinyl material with a piece wax paper backing known as liner paper. Once the design has been cut, a vinyl cutting company will hand strip all the unwanted pieces of the decal which is called “weeding.” The final design is covered with a protective application tape that is used to transfer the design onto the surface of your choice (ex. Windows, Vehicles, Signs, Walls, etc.)
Vinyl is a very versatile material that comes in primary colors like red, white, and blue all the way to specialty colors like 14k gold and carbon fiber. Vinyl material is very easy to work with and is easily cut to shape and perfect for advertisement or just plain fun.
In the past couple of years, Vinyl Decals have become very popular making signs more affordable for companies and also people just wanting custom vinyl decals. The most popular uses for vinyl decals are window decals, vinyl banners, product signs, wall art, and business advertisement. Products signs are great for semi-permanent deployment and weatherproof. Most product signs are made of corrugated plastic which are great against the elements and wrath of Mother Nature. There are several types of ways to place a product sign with the most common form being ground stakes. This is a perfect way to promote businesses and for realtors to promote houses for sale.
Wall Art
Wall art is a new way to deploy vinyl and not known to many people. Wall art is basically the same as window decals or personal use decals that are blown up to size to fit graphics onto a wall. Wall art can be a stenciled vinyl that is cut out or a full color vinyl print that is applied somewhat like wall paper.
Business Advertisement
Vinyl can be applied to any smooth surface and is a great way for advertisement. Not to mention, vinyl decals can be relatively cheap if purchased in bulk. Vinyl Decals can be applied to almost any surface as long as the surfaces application is smooth textured and dry upon placement of the decal.
