Personally I think our future looks bright and full of surprising technologies as we move closer and closer to the year 2020. Robots, improved Communication tools, and I even read somewhere we may even be playing video games using our own brain waves according to the University of Washington. Researchers are working on finding new and improved wireless technologies and there has been rumor that they are designing battery free wireless devices. How amazing would that be? Something that I see becoming very popular and up and coming will be the wearable devices. I certainly think so! To add, A Queen’s University researcher has created a Star Trek-like human-scale 3-D videoconferencing pod that allows people in different locations to video conference as if they were standing in front of each other and Parisian researchers have developed a 3D navigation system for the blind using a pair of glasses equipped with cameras and sensors like those used in robot exploration. Wouldn’t this be incredible? On another note, Researchers from North Carolina State University have developed a more efficient data transmission approach that can boost the amount of data the networks can transmit by 20 to 80 percent while Rice, Penn State researchers laced carbon nanotubes with boron to create reusable oil-soaking sponges that show promise for environmental cleanup, among many uses.

Textile printing is a method by which fabrics are printed in various colors, arts and designs. It is a very old art developed and created on fabrics in Egypt during 5000 B.C. Fabrics also found printed in Greek during 4th century. B.C, also it is noted that printing blocks were sourced from India in 5th century. B.C. During that time, France acknowledged as popular center of this type of cloth production and printing. Japan was popular for adding stencil work in wood by making blocks and further by pasting dies and prints it in fabrics.

In the Mid-15th Century, with the invention of printing press by John Gutenberg there was a drastic change seen in printing technology and textile printing. After practicing by William Caxton in England, there was a remarkable widespread seen in relief printing technology in 1476. In sixteen and seventeen century with the export of spices, India became major provider of printing fabrics and products, like calico, pajama, gingham, dungaree, chintz and khaki according to the requirement of European countries. Making predictions in the world of technology is about as rough as it gets. You see a trend, a fad, or a new craze, jump on it, extrapolate, and then go and get it all totally wrong.

As an example, at the turn of the 20th century, it was predicted that passenger air balloon travel – pioneered by the likes of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin – would be commoditized and become the pre-eminent means of mass transit. In fact, it would be so popular, by the 1980s, people would have their own personal air balloon as their primary method of conveyance.

Obviously, this gaze into the future didn’t take into account the airplane, which put an end to that pearl of foresight.

The main problem with looking forward is that people do it in such painfully straight lines, as the previous example demonstrates. What is technology? I bet that everyone you ask will give you a different definition, depending on the things he/she uses. I’m sure your mother will tell you that technology makes her life easy because of all the gadgets that were invented, your younger brother will say technology means latest generation computers and high detailed games, you will probably say that it is your mobile phone. Technology has contributed much in making tasks easy and fast. These advances in technology are being adapted to hospitals and medical centers. And because of this, record keeping is not that difficult to handle. Doctors can easily keep, update and transfer medical records for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

In the past years, record keeping would mean keeping personal records in a sheet of paper and being filed in individual folders.
